Tasks and Final Project
INSTRUCTIONS
TASK 1 – SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYTICS
This task's purpose is for us to get familiar with analytics data and metrics via analytics tool, in this case, Adobe Analytics. We were required to analyze data from Taylor's University website utilizing Adobe Analytics. To gauge the engagement and flow of a site from two periods in comparison, the whole year of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020.
REFLECTION:
Getting to learn how to analyze analytics has been a new and exciting experience for me. It was so fun to actually see real user activity and their journey through valid data. I had to get used to some new terms used in describing the data to fully understand the whole thing and the process has taught me plenty.
TASK 2 – EMPATHY MAPPING & USER PERSONA
In this task, we are to create personal profiles as a representation of a product's users. These personas are used to keep the user front and centre throughout the design, development and maintenance process.These sets of personas are guided by The Risers.
REFLECTION:
It was exciting to collect data from the questionnaire and real interviewees. It has been interesting to interview people, collect data, and morphed them into whole new personas that in the end we are quite satisfied and think that they are compatible with the user persona for The Risers.
TASK 3 – DEFINING THE FOUR LENSES
Defining the four lenses; company, category, consumer and culture, to distillate data and guides designer to look at the challenges at hand through those four lenses. Applying these different perspectives ensures that we have considered all of the angles and brings some creative tension to bear on solving the problems. In this task, we are required to narrate the four lenses that assist data contextualization. We are to present the data distillation based on the 4Cs.
REFLECTION:
I found four lenses system to do research is very guiding and an absolutely organized method to collect data. I was actually fascinated by the facts that we had gathered and I look forward to the opportunities on using this guide to do future project research.
FINAL PROJECT – PITCH DECK & DESIGN APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT
With the data and knowledge collected through the tasks we have done, we are to develop a pitch deck presentation for an assigned brief by The Risers, containing key findings of an assigned product or brand. Along with that, we are also to develop design application and development from the key findings that have been tabulated in the deck.
REFLECTION:
Finally having the opportunity to develop a design for this project was absolutely exciting. I found that our previously collected data had helped us reasoned through the design ideas we had. So the final products produced are in sync with the target audience.
