INSTRUCTION

PROJECT 2

The content we had generated for project one will be made into a book with the size smaller than A4 and bigger than A5. Before jumping into it, we need to specify the typefaces we are going to apply to the book, to see whether the combination of the typefaces to the text, sub-text, and pull quote is fine or not. For the grid system, I decided to proceed with the Van de Graaf system because I like it and I think it suits the whole book.

Body text: Avenir Light (12pt)

Heading: Avenir Light (22pt)
Body text: Avenir Light (10pt)
Sub text: Avenir Medium Oblique (7pt)
Pull quote: Avenir Black (30pt)
Title: Market Deco

FURTHER READINGS

Five basic steps to successful book cover design:
  1. Decide what “look” you want to give your cover
  2. Choose a design software
  3. Find the right images for your cover
  4. Figure out your cover’s dimensions
  5. Choose the right typography for the title
A good back cover should include:
Compelling copy — if your cover has enticed readers, this is your chance to tell them a little more about the book. The copy might include a tagline, blurb,  author bio, and testimonials.
Striking design — this should work in tandem with the design of the front cover. When people pull it off the shelf, there's every chance they'll turn to the back first
