PROJECT 2 – TROUBLEMAKERS MANIFESTO MICROSITE 

This project required us to build a microsite consisting minimal 5 pages as a microsite collaterals for Troublemakers Manifesto Design Colloquium.

FEEDBACKS

Mr. Shamsul said not to use the texture because it looks heavy. And the speakers not really well informed. Also the merch not very good. He also told me to put a logo icon in the browser.

REFLECTIONS

Experiences

Week 8

I have in my mind on what kind of design I want to do for the project 2. As my key artwork looks very simple, I wanted to do a simple design for my website.

Week 9

I learned about bootstrap, I was very confused at first but after discussing with classmates and try it myself I get it bit by bit.

Week 10

Interactive design is very hard. Somehow I think luck is needed to build a website. 

Week 11

This week I got helped by the lecturer to finds out what's wrong with my not-working navigation. 

Observations

Week 8

I saw how my classmates are ready for this project.

Week 9

My classmates are very brilliant as they understand bootstrap very well.

Week 10

I think all my classmates are very creative and hard-working as their website is all good.

Week 11

I saw some of my classmates also have some problem and consulted with the lecturer. 

Findings

Week 8

I found that we need a lot of preparation before everything since the time to work on a project is rather short. 

Week 9

I found out what responsive website is and how to make them. 

Week 10

I found out even bootstrap is rather hard to use.

Week 11

I found out that any problem in building a website is actually fixable as long as we are scanning it thoroughly.

Creating Flat Design Websites – Pratas, António 

(Chapter 1: What is Flat Design?)

This book caught my eyes as I heard about flat design but never really know what it is. From this book I found out that flat design was most discussed back in 2013. It is characterised by a really minimalistic look, focused on removing all extra elements and effects from a design, such as bevels, shadows, lightning effects, depth, texture, and every element that creates and gives an extra dimension to these elements. 

(Chapter 5: Developing Your Site)

This book also taught on how to build a site from scratch. From creating a folder tree, preparing images,  to developing the page as well as the CSS. It also comes with the code. This book has helped me understand properly on how to basically build a website as I don't think I know enough the basic knowledge of it.
